Hi all!
I’m Abby (she/her/hers), and my journey has been a thrilling ride from the beaches of Lake Erie to the mountainous valley of Gunnison, Colorado, and finally to the enchanted PNW in 2023.
As the current Office Manager for the SOJC Undergraduate Student Services, I take immense pride in orchestrating the smooth functioning of our department. I am privileged to support our student employees and take great joy in that aspect!
My passion for education and personal growth led me to a bachelor’s degree in communications from Western State Colorado University in 2018. While managing a commercial bank, I became determined to equip myself with a deeper understanding of business and finance. As a result, I earned my MBA in 2022. This combination of knowledge and passion has been instrumental in my quest to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Over the years, I've gathered extensive experience across various industries, starting with more than a decade in hospitality management, where I honed my customer service and team leadership skills. As previously stated, I then navigated the intricate world of commercial bank management. I spent almost five years translating the complexities of finance and account management while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
Beyond my professional commitments, I'm deeply passionate about increasing financial literacy and am proud to be a practicing personal finance coach for the last five years. I empower individuals to take charge of their finances and pave the way for a secure and prosperous future.
Another passion of mine is sports, literally almost all of them. I watch, I play, you name it! Sports have always been an integral part of my life. I was an avid Rugby player at Kent State University, and that competitive spirit remains alive as I now wholeheartedly support the Seattle Seawolves and the New Zealand All Blacks.
In my leisure time, I enjoy the simple joys of life, hanging out with my beloved dog and cat, reading dark academia, or getting lost in a fantasy storyline. I also enjoy a great day at the beach with a sunshade, my paddle board, and a great group of friends to cook out with on a campfire.
