Carrie Scholtes, MS, MEd, is a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Oregon under the mentorship of Dr. Elizabeth Skowron. She currently works as a graduate employee and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy coach on the Coaching Alternative Parenting Strategies study directed by Dr. Elizabeth Skowron and Dr. Phil Fisher. Broadly, her research interests include examining the impact of early adversity and parent-child relationships on children’s executive functioning. More specifically, she is interested in examining how intervention-driven changes in parent-child interaction patterns buffer against the negative impact of early adversity on children’s self-regulatory abilities.
