Anne C Godfrey is a Senior Instructor 1 in the Department of Landscape Architecture.  She serves as the Director of the Bachelors of Landscape Architecture program.  As a member of the Landscape Architecture faculty since 2004, Godfrey has created a set of courses that emphasize cross-disciplinary investigation of the landscape. 

Research includes: photographic meaning in landscape architecture and the built environment; the phenomenal experience of landscape; the representation of memory and experience; effective teaching tactics for introductory studios; contemporary drawing applied to landscape design and understanding.

Godfrey teaches the introductory studios for the graduate and undergraduate programs.  In addition, she directs the summer MLA immersion program, teaches competition studios, contemporary drawing and visual studies exploring photographic representations of landscape. 

The environmental design journal DesignIntelligence named Godfrey as one of the 30 Most Admired Educators across the design and engineering disciplines in 2014. She received the Lord & Schryver Award from the Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects in 2016 for her mentorship of female students in the field.

Since 2011, students in her upper division studios have won or been finalists in top professional international competitions.  Thus far 6 teams, 21 students total, have placed in the following competitions:  Land Art Generator Initiative, Biomimicry Global Design Challenge and TerraForm One's OnePrize.
