Ixchel Verdugo (she/her/ella) has spent most of her professional life in higher education after graduating with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Oregon College of Education. Ixchel is a former elementary school educator and has worked extensively to bring equity and inclusion to the forefront in all her roles. She also previously served as the Executive Assistant and Front Office Coordinator for the University Career Center where she developed a deep understanding of career development.
Ixchel is currently an academic advisor in the College of Education and she provides advising to all students at the COE with a focus on students enrolled or enrolling in the Communication Disorders and Sciences program. She is excited to support students in utilizing their cultural and experiential wealth to make the most out of their educational, personal, and professional experiences.
Ixchel has lived in many places including California, Arizona, and Puerto Rico. She is a part of a Bachata dance performance team and enjoys hiking, interior design, cultural activities, and music of all kinds.
