Dr. Colorado-Resa has worked in the field of education for over 20 years. She began her career as a secondary educator and later computer resource teacher in Virginia, transitioned into instructional design and technology roles in higher education, and after receiving her doctorate at the University of Kansas, became faculty at Emporia State University in Kansas. There she served in a variety of roles, including Professor and Department Chair for the Instructional Design and Technology Department and most recently, Associate Dean of The Teachers College. As Associate Dean she coordinated the college’s educator preparation accreditation and assessment practices and reports, coordinated, and monitored the curricular review process; and oversaw the Office of Field Placement and Licensure.
Dr. Colorado-Resa has served as a site reviewer for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and has held various leadership roles for the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), including president of the Research and Theory Division and as a member of the Board of Directors. Her research interests include educator preparation, technology management, self-regulated learning, social community in the classroom, and integrating technology into teaching. She has received numerous awards including the Emporia State University Graduate Mentor Award, The Teachers College Service Award, and AECT awards for Presidential and Division Service.
