Joe Golfen is the Digital Communications and Marketing Specialist for the HEDCO Institute for Evidence-Based Educational Practice. Prior to joining the University of Oregon, Joe worked for the Provost and Enrollment Strategic Communications group at Arizona State University, serving as a digital communicator to potential and current students. An alum of ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, Joe spent his early career working as a reporter and web producer for The Arizona Republic and Phoenix New Times newspapers, before moving into the world of digital marketing, website management, UX design and communications. Joe has also served as the communications consultant for GLSEN Phoenix, part of a national organization committed to providing safe school environment for LGBTQ+ students and their peers.
