My areas of interest involve teacher education, place-based language curriculum development, project management, and descriptive linguistics for language revitalization and reclamation. My research includes linguistic description and revitalization of the Indigenous languages of the Pacific Northwest, particularly Ichishkíin and Sahaptian. I co-develop and co-teach in-person and online courses and workshops with NILI faculty to Indigenous language teachers and learners, with the goals of supporting teacher-learners to build their own knowledge and use of Indigenous languages; be advocates for language within their communities; and be effective language teachers who contribute to student and community wellness and strength. I also teach in the LTS program.
