Meredith works on community-engaged research that supports beneficial relationships between people, forests, and fire. As an interdisciplinary scholar, she brings her background in forest management and policy together with environmental sociology to examine land management politics from multiple angles. As a non-Indigenous person, she thinks about how wildfire crises demand reckoning with settler colonialism, and what non-Indigenous allyship and responsibility might look like amidst this reckoning. She has worked on applied social science research in collaboration with the InterTribal Timber Council, the Ecosystem Workforce Program, the Tribal Climate Change Project, and the Watershed Research and Training Center. She holds a B.S. in Forestry from UC Berkeley, an M.S. in Forest Ecosystems and Society from Oregon State University, and an M.S. in Sociology from University of Oregon.
