Biography

Kathryn Moakley teaches basic and advanced students in the Domestic Violence Civil Clinic.  Prior to joining the Domestic Violence Clinic in 2015, Ms. Moakley was an associate in a firm in Portland, Oregon, where much of her practice focused on representing parties involved in the child welfare system, and she has extensive experience working with survivors of domestic abuse.  She and her students currently provide legal service to clients on a wide range of civil matters, with an emphasis on family law. 

Ms. Moakley earned her B.A. from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois in 1998, and her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2005, where she was a Morse Fellow and active in student groups.  After her law school graduation, she served as a law clerk to judges in Lane and Multnomah counties.  She is admitted to the Oregon State Bar and is a member of many professional organizations, including Oregon Women Lawyers, Lane County Bar Association, and Clinical Legal Education Association.
