Stefan Gzyl has 15 years of experience in a broad range of projects in the US, Europe and Latin America. He worked for several years with SOM and 1100:Architect in New York and with Jean Michel Wilmotte in Paris before returning to his home country of Venezuela. In 2018 he joined the team of Incursiones as Director of design, focusing on public space interventions and projects with vulnerable communities in some of the poorest and most violent areas of Caracas. He has led architecture workshops and participatory projects in Venezuela, Mexico and Chile and has been invited to speak at the London Festival of Architecture and Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt, as part of an international project studying the impact of human migrations on cities around the world.
He is Assistant Professor of Architectural Design at FAU/UCV, where he has taught design studios since 2011. He was director of Taller X design unit from 2016 to 2019.
