Sara Mason is a passionate, experienced, relationship manager, with sales, business development, and fundraising success in the private, public (higher education) and non-profit sectors.
As assistant director of industry engagement for Mohr Career Services, Mason seeks to build strong and deep relationships with industry and alumni to ensure students gain exposure, education, connections, networks, hands-on learning, and internships. She takes a student-centered approach with a focus on access and opportunity to empower all students to learn, grow, land, and thrive in their career. Mason brings lived experience to her work, focusing on equity, opportunity, and inclusivity. She seeks to be an enabler of change and champion of unheard voices.
A natural connector, Mason started her career in sales, business development, and recruitment roles for a regional tech company and national higher-ed publishing company. She pivoted to put her sales skills to work with purpose and mission, serving in University of Oregon Advancement as an associate director of development for the College of Arts and Sciences and then as director of development for the School of Journalism and Communications. Mason took a pause from the demands of travel fundraising at the UO to serve her family and focus her work on the local community as a development director for nonprofit arts, affordable housing, and basic need organizations, before returning to UO in 2019 to support and advance employer engagement at UO's career center.
