Biography
Tze-Yin Teo is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Oregon. She writes about twentieth-century and contemporary translation in literature and related media, with an emphasis on the overlapping Sinophone and Anglophone colonial worlds.
She is the author of If Babel Had a Form: Translating Equivalence in the Twentieth-Century Transpacific (Fordham UP, 2022), as well as articles in Modernism/modernity, Comparative Literature Studies, CR: The New Centennial Review, and the Oxford Literary Review. Her second book project thinks through the muted and often hard-won accounts of translation that take shape amidst language loss in the contemporary Sinosphere.
