Netsanet Yilma Debebe is a PhD candidate and Graduate Teaching Fellow in Media Studies at the University of Oregon. He was born in Abomsa, Ethiopia, and holds a BA degree (2005) and MA degree (2007) from Addis Ababa University. Netsanet is also a PhD student at the Institute for Peace and Security Studies, Addis Ababa University. He has taught at the University of Oregon and Addis Ababa University. Before coming to Eugene, Netsanet has been the Head of the Communications office of Addis Ababa University where he was responsible for planning and oversight of university communications and partnerships. He has also been Acting Director of the Office of the President of Addis Ababa University. Netsanet has been a consultant for numerous international organizations. He had travels in Africa, Europe and the United States before he came to the University of Oregon.
