Research

Victoria Olajide is an environmental archaeologist whose career objective is to contribute towards creating awareness on archaeology in Nigeria and West Africa. She received her Bachelor’s and Master of Science degree in Archaeology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Victoria specialises in archeobotanical studies using palynological and macrobotanical methods. She has also participated in different fieldwork and research in Nigeria ,West Africa.

Her research interests primarily include understanding human- environment interactions, particularly through the understanding of plant use; paleoenvironmental reconstruction of Late Stone Age environments in West Africa. Her doctoral research will be focused on investigating the implications of socio-cultural and technological transformations in prehistoric Yorubaland, Nigeria.

In addition, she has teaching experience in undergraduate archaeology courses in Nigeria and the University of Oregon,USA
