Stephanie Wiley received her B.S. at Western Oregon University and M.S at Portland State University. In 2014, she graduated with her Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Before joining the University of Oregon, Stephanie spent two years in St. Louis as an Assistant Research Professor and five years as an Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University. Her research focuses on consequences of justice system involvement among youth, including how being stopped or arrested by the police can shape youth’s attitudes about the law, norms, peers, and involvement in delinquent behavior. Stephanie’s more recent work examines the intersection of education and justice system institutions and the impact on academic orientations and achievement, with attention to the reproduction of racial and ethnic inequalities.
